Natasha and Boris, adoptable dogs in Fryeburg, Maine

On Wednesday this week I went to Harvest Hills in Fryeburg to photograph an adorable pair of adoptables, Natasha and Boris.
(And thanks to my husband who went with me to help).

Natasha and Boris are mother and son, and have been together their whole lives. The good folks at Harvest Hills don’t want to split them up now, so they are looking for a home together. They’ve been waiting quite a while.

They both ran right up to us and were happy to be doing something. It was raining when we got there, so we took N & B into the new downstairs livingroom at the shelter. The livingroom was made possible by a Christmas fundraising effort and is a space where volunteers can take a dog or two (or cat or two) to relax and watch tv (or read or nap) in a home-like setting.
The dogs get to relax and have time out of their kennels.adoptable husky mixes maine002Wouldn’t these two look great relaxing on your couch?

Harvest Hills adoptable dogs006Natasha is 13 years old and her son, Boris, is 8. They are thought to be part Husky, but what they are mixed with is unknown. Something is giving them those beautiful, brindle coats.
Harvest Hills adoptable dogs009Natasha was happy to be in the livingroom and jumped right up on the couch with my husband. Once I got my camera out, though, she got a little wary of us. Boris, however, continued to be Mr. Personality and was eager for attention.
They are both VERY treat motivated.
Harvest Hills adoptable dogs008Natasha retreated under the table for a bit so she could keep a watchful eye on us.

adoptable dogs fryeburg maine013The rain didn’t deter them too much and they both did some exploring. Even though they were excited,
they managed to show us a ‘down’ or two (with treats as motivation).

dog photographer maine017Natasha isn’t quite so gregarious and has a little bit quieter personality, but she would also be very easy to fall in love with.
That sweet face and THOSE EARS!!
dog photographer maine018While Boris had his mind on the treats and attention, Natasha let me take some more photos of her.

dog photographer maine016Please share these sweet dogs in hope of finding that special family that will welcome them into their home. Bonded pairs often have a hard time and a long wait in finding a home, there just aren’t that many people whose circumstances allow them to adopt two dogs at once. Add in the fact that they are older and that makes even more people pass over them.
If you think you could be the family that Boris and Natasha are looking for,
contact Harvest Hills at 207-935-4358 and meet this sweet and deserving pair.
